Saudi Arabia: 230/400 V but 60 Hz — and What That Changes

Saudi Arabia is the main Middle East market running at 60 Hz, and many older residential installations are still 127 V single-phase — the country approved a move to 230/400 V in 2010 but the transition is not finished. Voltage is not the only question here. Ask your client which system the building actually runs on.

SASO / SABER — how a shipment actually clears

  1. Product Certificate (PCoC) via a SABER-registered conformity body, based on IEC/CB test reports for the exact model.
  2. Then a Shipment Certificate (SCoC) per consignment before customs.
  3. The PCoC is normally held by the Saudi importer. Our job: supply the technical file, test reports, photos, and correct HS codes so your importer does not stall.

If your SABER registration is already in place, send us the approved model list — we quote against what is registered, so nothing arrives that cannot clear.
